One of the great efforts of this
ministry is to reach the lost for eternity. We understand a number
of truths about who we, as human beings, are and what we are doing
here-why we were created.
- Genesis 1 teaches that God created
all that we see including humanity.
- Acts 17 teaches us that God created
us in order that might seek Him.
- Genesis 3 shows us the separation
between God and man because of the sin of man.
- Genesis 3 teaches that God put a
curse on the earth and man. He also chased man from the garden
so we could not eat from the tree of life and live forever in our
sins.
- The curse was never meant to harm us
but to bring us back to God.
- Jesus is the sacrifice necessary for
the removal of our sins.
- Romans 10:10-17 shows us that the
message of Jesus must go out to all the world in order for people to
have the opportunity to give their lives to Christ and live with Him
forever in heaven.

With the above in mind, we work hand in
hand with the Elders at Nsawam Road church of Christ in Accra, Ghana, to
spread the message of Jesus Christ. Part of the support for seven
evangelists working in northern Ghana doing follow-up to the Rural Water
Development Project and the Church of Christ Mission Clinic (overseen by
International
Health Care Foundation) is given by
those who support Ghana West Africa Missions. The Elders have set
up a program to reach the lost. The following is the gist of it:
- The evangelists go from village to
village teaching the lost, baptizing them into Christ for the
remission of their sins, thus establishing new churches in the
various villages.
- The evangelists go back to the villages
on a regular basis to continue teaching the new Christians.
- Those who rise to leadership places
among the new congregations are invited to special classes, on a
quarterly basis, for more intensive teachings. Those men then
return to their villages and teach the people what they have
learned. This program is called Project Timothy. The
vast majority of people in the villages cannot read or write.
Many of the men who come to the special classes cannot read or
write. Therefore they have to have very simple lessons and
they men have to memorize them in order to teach their brethren.
It is a slow but sure way to help with the continuous growth of the
Christians so they can become more and more like Jesus with each
passing day.

Since the beginning of the Rural Water
Development Project and the Mission Clinic over 600 new congregations
have been established and more than 16,000 people have been baptized
into Christ. Of that number, several have already gone to be with
God in heaven. |
